“Fueling” represents the nutrition that helps children reach their full potential as leaders. It is also what our student volunteers do every week—fueling curiosity, confidence, connection and a belief in what is possible.

Hello! My name is Devika Patel, and I am the president and founder of Fueling Future Leaders. I’m a 17-year-old student at Saint Mary’s Hall in San Antonio, Texas.

My passion for this initiative started when I was introduced to a group of students teaching STEM to kids after school. This opportunity allowed me to see the importance of not only education, but also the hunger within students in underserved communities.

Hunger hinders academic success. My goal is to help bridge this gap by nourishing both the body and the mind—providing healthy food and enriching learning opportunities for those who need them most.
